Interior designer

Hello, I'm Elise Marlowe

I design warm, lived-in homes and write about the small decisions that make a house feel like yours.

My story

Why I do this work

I believe a home should feel like the people who live in it. Not like a catalogue, not like a trend, and never like a showroom waiting for its owners to arrive.

My work starts with listening: how you spend your mornings, where you like to read, who gathers around your table, and which objects you would carry out of the house first. Those answers shape every room, long before we talk about sofas or paint.

I'm drawn to natural materials that get better with age, to light that changes through the day, and to rooms that are collected slowly rather than bought all at once. A little patina, a well-worn chair and a stack of books are worth more to me than anything perfectly new.

This journal is where I share what I've learned along the way: practical advice, honest lessons and the ideas I come back to on every project. I hope it helps you make your own home a little calmer, a little warmer and entirely yours.

How I work

From first conversation to the final cushion

  1. 01

    Listen

We start with how you live: your routines, the pieces you love and what isn't working today.

  2. 02

    Plan

Layouts, lighting and a material board, so every decision fits the whole before anything is ordered.

  3. 03

    Source

Furniture, finishes and the occasional vintage find, chosen to last and to suit your budget.

  4. 04

    Style

The final layer of art, textiles and objects that makes the house feel unmistakably yours.
